Wakeling is an alarm, not a safety device

Please read this part. Wakeling depends on iOS to fire an alarm, and on your phone being charged, switched on, and not swiped out of the app switcher.

Do not rely on it alone for anything where being woken matters critically — a flight, an exam, a medical dose, a shift where lateness is dangerous. Set a second alarm.

The app is provided as-is, without warranty. To the extent the law allows, the developer is not liable for any loss arising from an alarm that does not sound.

The mission

Wakeling is deliberately difficult to switch off: dismissing it requires completing a physical mission. This is the product working as intended, not a fault.

A fallback is always available if a mission cannot be completed, so you are never locked out of stopping the alarm.

Physical activity

The Squat Mission asks you to exercise, and the Two-minute Walk asks you to walk, immediately on waking. Choose a mission appropriate to your health and your surroundings, and use the fallback if you should not be exercising.

You are responsible for your own safety while completing a mission. Do not use the walking missions anywhere it would be unsafe to walk while half asleep.

Wakeling Pro

Pro is a subscription, billed through your Apple ID, which renews until cancelled. Cancel any time in Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions; cancelling takes effect at the end of the paid period.

The free trial does not require a card. When it ends, Pro features stop and the alarm keeps working — the alarm and its missions are never behind the paywall.

Items bought with love, the in-app currency earned by waking up, are unlocked for your install. Restore Purchases recovers items bought with real money; love and the items it bought are local to the device.

Acceptable use

Do not decompile, resell, or redistribute the app, and do not attempt to defeat the mission checks in a modified build.

The artwork, sounds, characters and code are the property of the developer and may not be extracted or reused.

Changes

These terms and the privacy policy may change as the app changes. The version in the app you are running always describes that version.
